Shooting a wedding at Ashridge House was a first for me and I have to say, it is absolutely beautiful. Emma grew up near Ashridge House and I think it was always a place that she could see herself having her wedding. They both live in North Carolina on the East coast of the USA so there was plenty of organising done over the telephone and via the internet, but all in all, they really did have a special day!
The main entrance hall where the ceremony took place has one of the most fabulous staircases that I have seen in all my 31 years of photographing weddings. It really is a work of art and a photographers dream. If I had one criticism about this as a wedding venue it would be that there a simply too many places to make wonderful images. Literally everywhere you turn a stunning photograph is waiting to be taken.
