Wow!
That is the one word that I would choose to describe Leanne and Dave's destination wedding photography in Cyprus. The Nissi Beach Hotel in Ayia Napper to be precise. From start to finish (which was late into the evening) I had to be on my game. I was and I had a ball.
From arriving mid afternoon on the Wednesday (the wedding was on the Friday) I was promptly invited out for Dave's 'second' stag do. Fortunately minus the camera as when we hit the strip quite a bit of alcohol was consumed and I definitely would have struggled to get anything sharp. A 4am finish was a little later than I had anticipated, but I had the luxury of a little lay-in on the Thursday before I was due to meet the happy couple at their hotel to go over a few of their wedding plans and get a feel for the location. I have to say, the Nissi Beach Hotel had me drooling with the design and layout of it's beautiful gardens and private beach. The fact that the temperature was in the mid 90's was the only obstacle that I had to overcome. But, come the wedding day, factor 30, a gentle ocean breeze as they said there vows atop a small cliff overlooking the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean, and all was cool in the Cypriot hood.
We had the sun and later even a little bit of rain and the odd streak of lightning but the day could not have gone any better. After their first dance there was even an opportunity to shoot a few sunset silhouette's and a little off camera flash for something a little different. All in all, it is fun being a destination wedding photographer!
A quick visit to the Nissi Beach Hotel's very own salon to catch up with the girls.
Then a couple with Dave and two of his three children (Bradley and Freddie).
